Sandwich and coffee from LDU

LDU Coffee is open now in Preston Hollow.

The local coffee chain was founded on N. Fitzhugh Avenue in East Dallas in 2017. It has since expanded to Garland Road near White Rock Lake and a spot on Preston Road in the Park Cities area.

Co-owner Adam Lowes also confirmed with the Advocate that another location is planned for Greenville Avenue.

LDU sells a range of coffee, espresso drinks and teas, and snacks are available, too.

One thing that makes the coffee shop unique is that it doesn’t offer free Wi-Fi. Founders and brothers Adam and Mark Lowes told The Dallas Morning News in 2021 that, “we’re not trying to be that workspace that a lot of people associate with a neighborhood coffee shop.”

So don’t show up a with a laptop expecting to catch up on emails.

The Preston-Royal store is located at 10720 Preston Road next to Central Market. It’s open 7 a.m.-4 pm. Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.
