Jia Modern Chinese has closed.
The restaurant first opened in Preston Center in 2019 with a mix of Chinese and Japanese fare. General manager and sushi chef Fawn Zhao and head chef Yongtai Chen brought a combined 70 years of culinary experience to the restaurant, according to a June 2020 Advocate article.
One of the standout features of the restaurant was its upstairs patio and Asian cocktails.
A call to the restaurant’s listed number leads to a message that the voicemail box is full. Listings on Yelp, OpenTable and Google also list the restaurant as permanently closed. Some of the last reviews are from March and April this year.
Jia Asian Bistro revealed that Jia Modern Chinese closed at the end of March. The Jia Asian Bistro location, which is at Arboretum Village on 7331 Gaston Avenue, is still open.
