If you're looking for unique styles of pumpkins this Halloween, head to North Haven Garden.

  1. Thirsty Lion Gastro Pub

Already Thirsty Lion is in our lineup for its fall menu and drinks, but their large screens make it the place to be on game day. The Texas Rangers wrangled in another World Series entry this year and will go against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28 at the Globe Life Stadium in Arlington. But, do yourself a favor and forget the hectic trek to Arlington on I-30 and get a pint or two at one of these local haunts.

2. Farmer’s Market

The Fall Family Day at the Saint Michael’s Farmers Market is this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Enjoy vendors of local farmers, balloon and caricature artists and “tent or treating.” Costumes are encouraged.

3. Pumpkin Flower Party

If the kiddos need something more hands-on and creative, join Dr. Delphinium Designs at their Lovers Lane location for a pumpkin flower party workshop on Saturday, Oct. 28. There will be two workshops at 11 a.m. and another at 2 p.m. Kids can design a printed pumpkin with fresh flowers that they can then take home just in time for Halloween. Attendees will receive a gift bag.

4. Howl-o-ween Costume Contest

The third annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest will be hosted at On Rotation Brewery and Kitchen on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your furry friends in the best costume to take home the grand prize. On Rotation reminds guests that the city does not permit pets inside and the event will be on the patio.

5. NorthPark houses

Three spooky decorated little houses can be found at NorthPark. Each one has a thatched roof, artistically hand-painted and full to the brim with pumpkins. Decked with ghouls, witches and pumpkins, the houses showcase individual artistry. NorthPark also has plenty of photo opportunities for the group included in their pumpkin patch.

6. Rocky at Inwood Theatre

Inwood Theatre is prepped for its showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday, Oct. 28 with a live shadow cast. Inwood will also be playing new blockbusters The Killer, Killers of the Flower Moon and The Exorcist: Believer. Catch Nyad, a documentary about 64-year-old Diana Nyad who swam in Manhattan and from the Bahamas to Florida in the late 1970s. Nyad will debut on Netflix on Nov. 3.

7. Preston Hollow Village

In addition to their Movie on the Lawn, Preston Hollow Village will have the Cookie Society food truck pop up. The Movie on the Lawn is open to the public and will be on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy this year’s adaptation of the classic Haunted Mansion.
